All through the months of October and November, you are invited to help us defray some of the cost of buying new books by “adopting” an item from our new book display.

Make a donation to the library for 75% of the book’s retail price, and we will

  • Inscribe your name, or the name of a person you choose to dedicate the book to, on a colorful bookplate inside the book
  • Issue you a receipt for tax purposes
  • Be ever grateful for your support!

Stop in to the library to see our selection, or click here to see all the new items available to adopt.

There are other ways to support the library’s collection development too!

Purchase a book for us from our monthly wish-lists.

Every month we have to make hard choices to stay within our budget. There are always many great books we are forced to pass on.

You can help us by purchasing one or more items from our monthly wish lists.

Choose a book you like from the list and let us know you will adopt it. At that point you may purchase it anywhere you buy books (though we hope you will consider supporting your local independent bookstore) and then donate it to the library.

We will issue a receipt for tax purposes for a donation in-kind and inscribe your name on a bookplate inside the book.

Consider “adopting” an author.

Would you like to always get first crack at a favorite author’s latest work? If you agree to reimburse the library for 75% of the cost of each new book by an author of your choice, we will guarantee that you get to read our copy first, and inscribe your name on a bookplate inside the book.
