Poetry Workshop Series

Every second Thursday, February 20th through April 30th

6:30 – 8pm

A series of six free workshops for new and seasoned poets alike that will meet every two weeks. Poet Jeff Parent will facilitate this series designed to spark creativity and deepen your poetic practice. Participants will hone their skills by exploring different poetic forms, and sharing and critiquing each other’s work.

The workshop is limited to 7 participants. Participants are asked to commit to participating in all 6 sessions. Contact the library to sign up.

A resident of Lennoxville, Jeff Parent is a proud dad, local poet, and a graduate of Bishop’s University with a BA (hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing. A runner-up in The Fiddlehead Magazine’s Tell It Slant poetry contest (2016) and a finalist for the Words(on)Pages Blodwyn Memorial Prize (2017), Jeff’s poems have been published online and in print by Montréal Writes, The League of Canadian Poets,  ?The /t?mz/ Review, Bad Nudes, Lemon Hound, and The Townshippers’ Association amongst others. Jeff is expected to gradate from Concordia University in 2020 with an MA in Creative Writing and more grey hair than he started with.

Ateliers de création poétique

À tous les deux jeudis, une série de six ateliers gratuits s’adressant aux débutants comme aux poètes aguerris. Jeff Parent animera ces ateliers conçus pour stimuler la créativité et approfondir les techniques de versification. Les participants exploreront diverses formes de poésie tout en partageant et commentant leurs vers en groupe.

Limite de 7 participants, qui sont priés de s’engager à assister aux six rencontres prévues. Contactez la bibliothèque pour vous inscrire. Notez que les ateliers seront animés en anglais.
