The Bibliothèque Lennoxville Library is hiring a SummerYouth Services Coordinator
The Lennoxville Library is a non-profit organization with over 1500 active users that provides public library services to Lennoxville and surrounding areas.
We aim to provide excellent and enriching programs and services to the youth in our community.

start and end dates are flexible
Hours per week: 30
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, hours may vary depending on the employee’s schedule and planned activities.
Must be available most Saturdays 9am to 2pm.
Hourly rate: $21/hr

You will work under the supervision of the Library Coordinator to:
– plan, organize, promote and facilitate children’s activities at the library and/or in our pop-up library space at the Lennoxville Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings;
– lead the Library’s Summer Reading Club for kids ages 3 and up as well as other activities and events, in English and French, including weekly story times;
– represent the library at community outreach activities;
The library’s children’s activities can include arts and crafts, storytelling, educational games, book discussion groups, and other activities depending on your skills and interests.
Desired profile:
– Training and/or experience in teaching, communication, cultural facilitation, community recreation techniques or any other field related to the position;
– Creativity;
– Ability to manage and interact with groups of children, and to help foster curiosity, wonder and engagement;
– Excellent customer service skills; courtesy, thoroughness, hospitality, commitment, follow-through;
– Ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically in English and French, both orally and in writing;
– A love of books and literature, especially children’s literature, and a desire to share your passion;
– Interest in the mission of public libraries;
– Independence, versatility and initiative
– Interest in outdoor activities
– Experience and ease with graphic design applications like Canva
Potential employees must meet the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program. You must:
— be under 30 years of age at the time of the start of the contract.
— be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
— have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
