Kids and parents are invited to come join a fun and informal meetup that is geared to spark excitement about books and reading. There will be games and activities, and participants will be invited to share what they’ve been reading recently.
Every other month, kids and parents are invited to read a selected work of middle grade fiction together, and then gather at the library to talk about it as a group, and dig deeper into the story and share insights and ideas.
Families can read the book in whatever way best suits their family, and then show up ready to discuss and share- or just to listen in on the discussion. All families are welcome, even if you haven’t finished the book before the meeting. Younger or older siblings are welcome too.
The club will be conducted primarily in English, but– as always– participants of any language background and ability are welcome.
The Library will have a copy of each book available for loan, and copies will be available by interlibrary loan too. If you will need an interlibrary loan copy, please let us know as early as possible, ideally at least 6 weeks before the meeting. Black Cat Books will also have reasonably priced copies on sale.
Click here— or simply contact the library– to let us know you are interested in the club, so that we can keep you up to date with the latest news, meeting times, etc.
